Field

Artist: St John’s College

FIELD is a collaborative sculptural installation made by students from St Johns College, Dubbo. Flowers are made from up-cycled t-shirts woven using traditional techniques of weaving, wrapping, plaiting, braiding, and finger knitting. Students have researched the implications and potential solutions of the Fast Fashion global crises and discussed a variety of ways to represent them artistically. This installation encourages the audience to consider the inherent beauty of up-cycling. Students have individually designed flowers using their own creative designs and worked collaboratively at school in class and at lunchtimes to create their artwork.
