My sculpture’s name is Birb because he is an unusual and different type of bird. He is made from scrap metal and wood from our family farm. The scrap metal bits I have used in the making of Birb include a metal chainsaw guard, rebar, horseshoe, points, header knife, metal scrap and wood. My inspiration for making Birb comes from a family holiday to Tasmania which we recently went on. We visited a wildlife sanctuary. There were many different types of wonderful and interesting birds there and when thinking of an idea to make for this competition they inspired me to create Birb.
