The sea holds many wondrous living things within its realm and its beauty is beyond measure. Rubbish continues to find its way into our oceans, including plastics which are an element that should never coexist within the depths of our great seas. ‘Neptune’s Restoration’ artwork is our view on how Neptune (mythological ruler of the sea) would transform trash in the ocean. The artwork has been created with items found around our home. We used dye and bubble blowing to create the background on the canvas and found items such as plastic bags, plastic caps, cellophane, a plastic toothbrush, domed plastic container from a used bath bomb, used glow sticks, netted plastic fruit bags, ribbon, rocks, cut up green sponge and balloons to upcycle and create this piece of art.
