Australian fauna – wrapped

I did a workshop in Newcastle several years ago where I learned to make these wrapped fabric animals on a wire framework. Inside the framework it is stuffed with plastic bags for stability and form. I made the wombat and lyrebird there and completed the kangaroo and emu later. I further embellished my sculptures with hand stitching. I love the character that emanates from them
