Grace

“Grace” is a metal junk sculpture, which I TIG welded from a selection of rusty farm machinery components and abandoned tools from our old shed at Back Yamma Rd, Parkes. She exudes individuality, demonstrating a strong ‘no nonsense’ female attitude and unconventional cross-cultural dress sense. Grace loves to shock. In designing “Grace”, I was inspired by Grace Jones, a Jamaican model, actress and recording artist, who was quite famous in the 1980’s. Initially attracted by the music, but also became intrigued by her visual style and strong persona. Although Grace is now in her 70’s, her music remains timeless. And no doubt her attitude
