Cicadas in the bush

After reading Searching for Cicadas by Leslie Gibbes and Judy Watson we created our Wate2Art entry for 2021.
Our entry was created by all of the school students with left over paint to paint the background onto up-cycled shopping bags. Cut and torn up kitchen packaging and magazines were collaged over the paint to create the bush. The cicadas were made from tin cans, old material, iced coffee cartons and tissue paper and were hung in front of the Australian bush. It represents where we live and what is happening around us.
